An early-morning walk led to an unexpected and rather entertaining interaction with a Spotted Eagle Owl, now fondly known as Mr Spotty. When a guest playfully mimicked owl calls, the owl responded -and even returned the next morning as if expecting another conversation.
Spotted Eagle Owls are nocturnal, mate for life, and are easily recognised by their bright yellow eyes and feathered ear tufts. Encounters like these often become guests’ favourite memories of their stay at Rondekuil.
Steppe Buzzards Along the Farm Roads
Steppe Buzzards are a regular sight along our farm roads, often perched on fence poles while scanning the fields below.
